Positive Comments: Well it’s Maiden Voyage, what’s to complain about.

Constructive Comments: This is pretty decent version of the tune, personally I did not love the funk beat up front but about 1 minute in when the rhythm opened up it was quite a nice transition. Might not be the fact that the initial rhythm was funk just that I don’t really like the beat . The keyboard player has some chops, the trading of solos is cool but I would not have them overlap, it just sounds messy, and the drums might be a little loud. Overall though it’s a respectable attempt at Herbie Hancock’s tune.

Positive Comments: Overall the song is great. Guitars are sitting right in the mix. Good playing too. Vocal sounds like a cross between Josh Turner and Brothers Osborne. Capturing a baritone vocal and bringing out the tone is no easy task. Good job on that.

Constructive Comments: For a folk song I wouldn’t change a thing. If you wanted to go for a more dynamic country vibe, I would definitely bring the drums out more. Much like what you would hear in George Strait keeping the a traditional country feel. Maybe even a lap steel. Great tune!
