Positive Comments: I think the rising and falling melodic line is very strong. Great vocal. Lovely acoustic guitar. I like the way extra instrumentation comes in at 0.24. There are some nice pauses which add tension. Nice instrumental bridge at 2.52. Very nicely recorded.

Constructive Comments: I think an essentially acoustic song such as this needs an instrumental intro. The instantaneous arrival of the vocal sound too abrupt. Similarly at the end of the song if you stripped away the instrumentation and just let the voice do ‘If we didn’t have to choose’ the ending would have tons more impact and sound more contemporary.

Positive Comments: The vocal is very powerful and the singer sells the song brilliantly. The lyrics are very strong in that they are imaginative and tell a coherent story. The melodic rhythm of the vocal track melds perfectly with the bass and drum track. Good sound quality.The song is catchy. Shades of Bruce Springsteen.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the instrumentation because I feel that the song would benefit from the addition and the subtraction of instruments to accentuate the different sections of the song to add light and shade and make it more dynamic. I think this is a really good song but it would be enhanced by adding some oomph to the arrangement.
