Positive Comments: That was Awesome stuff! I love it. Keep up the good work. I like the passion in the vocal track. It was very felt and the music matched the intensity of the vocal as well. At first I thought the guitar sound was a little shaky but after I went back and listened again I thought I liked it better and that it was nice to just have it stick out like that.

Constructive Comments: This one is really hard to critique but if I had to I would say that you may want to look into taking out the guitar entirely and see how it holds together. I have a feeling that you want the guitar to sound contrasting like the way that it is, and this will probably fall on deaf ears but I would try a clean guitar sound personally with a lot of preamp so as to be able to hear the picking. In fact, I would try using an acoustic guitar.

Song: Your Boyfriend is a Dick

Positive Comments: Would have been a definite hit in the late nineties or early aughties. If that’s what you are shooting for then it’s perfect for a movie during opening, ending credits or a montage with scenes from that time period. Also reminded me of ‘Fountains of Wayne’ who I admire. A definite plus that it wasn’t over produced.

Constructive Comments: For the critical and constructive side, I would say that the song was too repetitive for some reason. I think a couple of good leads could remedy the situation though. If leads don’t strike your fancy, then how about trying some full stops and starts every now and then. I don’t recall hearing any backing vocal tracks.

Positive Comments: This piece reminds me of Jan Hammer or maybe some of the Styx was doing back then. Pretty cool. It is simple but effective for a movie soundtrack from the eighties I would say. The breakdown in the middle of the piece was a nice surprise and it was done very well. I love stuff like this and I wish there was a lot more of it. I liked the vocoder alot!

If the song is going to be instrumental then I would expect some type of lead part, and since there isn’t a real voice I would personally use something with a stronger wave form with a good attack like a guitar. Also thought it was a little bit stiff sounding in the beginning. Just preference but maybe a small sound effect to fill the space would carry it thru better.

Positive Comments: I like the beautiful piano sounds and the drums as well – very beautiful vocals as well.

Constructive Comments: I like the song especially since it’s about my home state, West Virginia. The problem I have is that the vocals are hard to understand and I think it may be the way it’s recorded – seems like the music and the vocals are riding in the same frequency range which makes them both blend in together – best wishes!

Positive Comments: Very dreamy sounding tune, I like how the rhythm guitar and the lead guitar blends together – very cool sound for sure. I especially like when the keyboards and drum arrive.
