Song: Crazy In Love With You (Soft Mix)

Positive Comments: Great intro which builds nicely with in arrival of the drums then the bass. A lovely melody and the chorus is particularly strong. I like the brass fills very much, shades of some of Sting’s stuff there. Nice change for the bridge and the instrumental break. The singer has a really captivation voice and I like the whispered ‘crazy’ in the outro. ‘Crazy in love with you’ is a great lyric theme.

Constructive Comments: I would have liked a new instrument to have been introduced in verse two, maybe something as basic an acoustic guitar, just to add a new element. I also think some of the ‘Ooh’ backing vocals don’t quite work, perhaps they are too high in the mix. That’s why I’ve marked down the arrangement. However it’s a genuinely catchy and alluring song. An excellent composition.

Positive Comments: The production quality from the start is excellent (way better than low fi) – A melancholy vibe that I love from the get go. Very awesome vox and dreamy guitar. A really nice outro for an indie film (run credits). Calls to mind some ELP or David Gilmour.

Constructive Comments: I think this is a demo – yet sounds very finished. Smooth and dreamy. Very sweet picking and soulful voice. Looking forward to listening to some more of your tunes.

Positive Comments: Loved the 12-string guitar and the quality of your playing. Very good. I loved the simplicity of the song and recording, which make it very intimate and engaging. Simple and true tale of dedicated love. Your voice has a pleasant sound to it that helps to sell and tell the tale of the song. Nice recording, clean and simple. Good job.

Constructive Comments: So, what I do in this section is give you somethings to ponder and are WORTH pondering because this is a powerful and simple song that has potential in a film. If you didn’t record the song with you playing and singing at the same time, you may want to go in and address the few spots with you get a wee bit pitchy. Not a lot, just a couple spots. The guitar work is very good, but for giggles, I would like to hear the vocal track dryer (i.e., not so much reverb). It might make the song even more intimate, almost like you are whispering it. The lyrics could be smoothed out a bit as they seem to be fighting to stay with the melody. It is very easy to do…just go through the lyrics line-by-line and see where you can cut a word or 2 or 3….or some un-needed syllables. This will allow you to open up the melody to a rounder tone. Finally, as much as I love the simple guitar/vocal track…..some simple additional instruments and I mean SIMPLE could break the arrangement up and fill out the recording. A doubling of the vocal track in the CHORUS will have the listener singing along during the very first listening. You have a really nice song here that needs a bit of snipping and soft polishing…and I think it will shine even brighter!Good job. Thanks for sharing. Hope these comments give you some things to think about.PS Also, when doing a guitar/vocal track, I like to record the vocal and guitar on separate tracks, so if I need to polish something or fix something in either track…it is easier to do.

Positive Comments: Doing it ,doing it ,This song has a great 70’s rock feel about it .A bit like T REX?W The song very simple and to the point great bass and lead guitar but nothing over the top and too complex. The vocals really blend in with the song and although the story line is very basic everything works well together .Keep up the good work

Constructive Comments: great song on its own but i wonder if a guitar solo in amongst the mix could work well wth it might be worth trying it? Anyway i will leave that up to you.Hope it does ell for you .Good job

Positive Comments: Would sound like a Joe Diffie or Billy Dean type song, along that line. Very original hook and unique. Great clean recording and very pitchable. I know you did a acoustic only type demo so no need to delve on the instrumentation as I believe you did this one properly without the full band backing. Sound like it fits the commercial market of today so I would say great job, there’s a place for this one out there somewhere.

Constructive Comments: Not much I can hear, sounds fine as is.
