The lyrics have a necessary depth. It would be great for folks to read these lyrics without the music, then hear the song. Seems so timely in 2018…It would be interesting to hear Patty Austin’s voice on this… or Phyllis Hyman… or Esperanza Spaulding…
Constructive Comments: This is such a great song… the lyrics stand out against a wonderful musical framework.The percussion and kit are wonderfully married and really drive the journey through the story told through the melding of lyric and melody.I am also a vocalist… please excuse my intrusion… the vocals were a touch pitchy for my ear. Off just a touch. The power of this song with vocals that are right on mark would be incredible. I am so sorry to make this comment on such a good piece of music, but it seemed important to say. Thank you for well-written song.
