Song: Strength
Reviewer: Matt Mereu
Positive Comments: Outstanding on every level. Great vocal. Great lyrics. Great arrangement. Great sound.
Constructive Comments: Nothing to improve on. Real market potential. I find that the rustling rocket effect at 1:23 and 2:17 adds nothing, and in fact detracts. An arpeggiated pizzicato in the section which follows might sound good. Best of luck!

Positive Comments: It’s a giddy little melody and song. A typical christmas song i might expect to hear over the speakers in a mall around christmas time.
Constructive Comments: I liked the extra vocal harmony added into it at one point.I would suggest to have this song sung either completely with vocal harmonies included or at least to have it sung by a female singer with a less express vibrating voice. Perhaps a voice like Britney or Lavigny… Lighter, in any case.I would also consider adding in a hook, because the way it is now, it’s kind of monotonous and soon saturating.

Positive Comments: I am not an experienced listener to this genre.I liked the vocals mixed with the instrumental.I liked very much the ‘hissing’ sound in the back ground that came into the mix later on. Created a higher level of suspense.I would think this suitable for an action movie chase scene for instance, where suspense is growing to a climax. I am thinking a foot-, bike-, skate chase, rather than a car chase. This is what it reminded me of when listening to it. Hence the title I chose for it.
Constructive Comments: Nothing to add constructively as i am not experienced with this genre myself and lack comparison material.

Song: Your Dad Was Right About Me
Reviewer: Esther G
Positive Comments: It’s a nice tune that reminds me of a spring day in the park. Hence, the title i suggested for it.It’s a relaxed melody, that especially at the intro, reminded me of a country rhythm. I could imagine a country singer singing lyrics to it.I can also imagine this melody being used as a background music to a family video or some musical capture of a timeframe in a movie.
Constructive Comments: I am not convinced it’s very commercially attractive though, as in hearing this on the radio. I find it a bit too monotonous for that. You would need some kind of melodic hook, at the very least. But also a larger variety of instruments and different instruments playing different parts, to make this more interesting.

Broadjam Artist: Chet Nichols
Song: Six Feet Under (#1 New Age-Religious)
Reviewer: Esther G
Positive Comments: Vocal pitch, recording, originality are all very good in my opinion.I believe it’s not a common style for religious music. So, bravo for doing something else than many others. The structure of the song is very good. Nothing disturbing in there. It is able to immediately set the tone and bring images to mind of some surreal dark place.
Constructive Comments: On the critical side: Personally, I am not enthousiastic about the intro with the organ. It makes everything rather dark and gothic. Which, if that is your intent, I guess you succeeded. But i would suggest to change this into something a little less weighing down or dark sounding. The other question is whether the tone that it sets and the images it creates in one’s mind agree with the lyrics. If I disregard the lyrics, I find myself in some black&white world with a setting of that of the Lord of the Rings or some other fantasy story, with demons and marshes. Not a very safe or happy environment. …. So that contradicts the lyrical message of the song. For this reason I voted that it’s probably not going to have much market potential. I think it would be in better harmony if the lyrics don’t talk about coming out of that darkness but rather about the actual experience OF that darkness at the time. It’s probably tempting to add a good ending to a song so that there is some ‘salvation value’ in there, but many people relate not to the outcome of an experience, but rather the recognition of themselves IN a certain experience.
