Positive Comments: Really well arranged tune with a catchy chorus. Commercial feel.

Constructive Comments: I didn’t like the ‘room’ like reverb. The vocals sound a little like they’ve been recorded in the underground as they stand. Plus there is way too much treble on the mix, at least in my earphones.

Positive Comments: Original and had its own aura, liked the groove once it really got going.. I would think where the verse would go. You fall into a zone and just soak in the vibe. Nothing too complex and complicated, simple driven and a subtle taste. I enjoy the tease with the drops like the song ended .

Constructive Comments: My two cents worth would be spent on the drums and engineering. the ingredients are all in there and the sequence works, just would have to give it that edge for each individual sound/instrument. The drums being the foundation has to be solid ans giving it that platform gives the sound a bigger ear. Overall nice concept and something to grow on.

Positive Comments: Good arrangement and quality work.. the jazzy feel brings a jam session to mind and it has that ambiance the recording gives off. Sets you into a vibe mode automatically, I like to call it feel good music. Being a fan of piano sounds and guitars, it was easy for me to be engulfed and hanging on to whats coming next? Its just a fun song..

Constructive Comments: If I could make a suggestion to enhance the recording would be to be more selective on the drum sounds and programming. I could almost already hear the sounds that would be a great fit and the difference would be night and day. Oh and I wouldn’t put this in the Rap category either, I think more appropriately would be a sub genre in the Jazz Section. But take nothing away from a good piece of music, good job.

Positive Comments: Props to the programming of this song, overall its really a good arrangement. Some of the synth sounds I really enjoy. Good mix as well, it has emotion to it.. break downs that give a meaning and peaks that exploit the moment. my favorite part is when it all drops towards the end and the drums switch up as it leads the outro.. Its those small details that brighten a recording to me.

Constructive Comments: This can go from a good sound to a great sound… instrument choice, I hear sounds that reminded me of older synths and I felt took away from that “big” modern sound. Although there are glimpses where the vintage sound has its place which would mean their would have to be a happy median of both in balance then I can hear the full potential of the record. Definitely some potential brewing.

Song: Artist: Tha Bishop – Song Title: When I’m Done

Reviewer: Mad Man Smooth

Positive Comments: This is real hip hop.. the sample arrangement to the drum sounds and the boom bap feel. Definitely captured the essence of what he was talking negatively against, he took the sound of the culture and spoke against some of the different sounds and styles the new changes that the culture is enduring. Props for taking the platform to speak on something more than partying, sex and drugs.

Constructive Comments: The song is nice, with a few touch ups it could be more assertive with the message and not only speaking on the matter but having the music become the backdrop of the scenario. The right engineering aspect would really bring the songs depth to focus, I think the vocals could be EQ’d a bit different and believe that would change the whole dynamics and quality of the sound in a positive result.

Positive Comments: I liked the arrangement of the song, it has a nice lead in the hook and the overall flow of the song and the mix complements each other. The idea of setting the song up instead of just start rapping was a plus to this record as well. I like when a beat has changes that are in context with the artist, intro and outro’s etc.. It’s good to hear other artist take the time to incorporate that.

Constructive Comments: A decent song, the mix on it could get a little more attention to it.. Nothing major to over haul some minor frequency tweaks and some EQ adjustments on some instruments which will be fine tuning your ear with experience and dedication. Its a common themed song so the competition is plenty so keep working study your craft and don’t be afraid to do something everybody’s not…

Positive Comments: The song is a stand alone, unique in its own nature. A mixture of funk, rap, pop, RnB and Jazz. This would be fusion if I had to give it a new category. Nice arrangement on the instruments and good vibe energy. Reminds me of a house party scene and college environment. Overall good song, the sounds used could be brought out or more modernized for the Rap category. This reminds me of a Donald Newkirk or The Gorillaz.

Constructive Comments: The improvements is subjective to what I like to listen to, like I stated before.. Nothing lacking stands out, the engineering is simple but then again the song is simplistic and the demographics for this style of music, may be perfectly tuned and mixed. Definitely is catchy and melodious to fulfill the pallet.
