Positive Comments: A wonderfully powerful sound from the off, setting the scene for a musical frenzy. Musicianship is really strong. The vocals are just right for this type of song. Nice use of cadence in the arrangement. You took a massive risk with the change at 1.55, but in my opinion that risk paid off hugely, in that the move from dark to light and ultimately back to dark defines the song. Well recorded with good sound quality.

Constructive Comments: Nothing to add. I’ve said it all.

Positive Comments: Great intro riff to set the scene. Great chord change as the first verse comes in. Lovely instrumentation. Strong lead and backing vocals. Catchy chorus. Crystal clear sound. Well mastered. Reminds me of The Steve Miller Band.

Constructive Comments: I couldn’t catch the lyrics on the chorus, but maybe that’s because of my cloth ears. I thought the guitar solo seemed to lose a bit of direction at 2.28 when Prog Rock elements were introduced to what is essentially a melodic Rock song. I think a more orthodox guitar solo would have worked better, although the musicianship itself was first class. Overall though I liked the song a lot.

Positive Comments: Nice intro..I like the bass and drum beginning. The keyboard tone works really well. The lyrics are clever, but see Constructive Comments. The singer is perfect for the ambience of the song. The song is catchy. Nicely recorded. This song could have been recorded by Gruppo Sportivo.

Constructive Comments: I didn’t get the ‘Larty’ thing, maybe that’s just me and for that reason I marked down the lyrics by one mark. I would have liked the guitar to have been more prominent in the mix. The bridge between 2.25 and 2.56 and the outro need more musical variation to add dynamism in my opinion. I think with some tweaking this could be a very strong song.

Positive Comments: I felt as if I was listening to something that Jim Steinman and Elton John collaborated on after spending a weekend with Mozart. Great melody and performance. The title “There and Back Again” came to me as I was listening to the song build to an epic climax, then return to its regal roots, which reminded me of Bilbo Baggins’ autobiography of his legendary journey. Really nice work.

Constructive Comments: There isn’t a lot I can suggest to improve this song. The Progressive rock category is probably one of the more appropriate classifications for this melody, however, most people associate Progressive Rock with bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes, and the classical elements that give this song such strength and grandeur may surprise some listeners, and may be missed by other listeners who would love this song, but are not fans of the Progressive Rock Genre. That is one thing that I would recommend for Broadjam, is to allow for some user defined genre classifications.

Positive Comments: This is really great stuff. It is very original and very anthemic. Lovely musicianship in this. Great changes at 1.20 and 1.56..great use of light and shade there. I like some of the theatrical touches. The listener is entertained throughout the piece.

Constructive Comments: This is really strong work and importantly very memorable. The tune makes a powerful statement, which lingers in the mind. Worth pitching for an epic film/TV programme.

Reviewer: David James

Positive Comments: I like the piano line. Strong lyric. The vocalist delivers a compelling performance and lovely use of backing vocals. The song has a strong melody, with the ‘California Sky’ line delivering the hook. Shades of Al Stewart in the song.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the instrumentation because I think drum track is too intrusive, for example I would have left it out of the intro and first verse..introducing it later to build the track. And perhaps I might have replaced the synth with a subtler pad, just to give a hint of strings. Having said all that I like the song. The melody lingers in the mind which is the sign of a well crafted song.

Positive Comments: You had me at the first beat. I loved everything about this song….You made the hair on my arms stand straight up…all your words were very clear no guessing and your voice gave me chills…Do we give enough thanks to our men…Does everyone have a green light on their porch o in theirr window to thank a vet?…Mine has been in my window for 3 years and I live with a Vet. Thank you for doing this song….

Constructive Comments: Applause, applause, applause…..I have a song called When Johnny Comes Marching Home, and I have taken an artistic license with it because it shows all that a vet goes through, both physical and mental….great job
