Song: Christmas , The 25th (Country Version)

Positive Comments: Loved the female/children’s voices and especially the way they contrast one after the other. Not enough new Christmas songs so this is very welcome.

Constructive Comments: Needs more reverb on the male voice because it sounds a little stilted as it is.No clear chorus that is totally different from the verse, which is a shame because the whole thing is very catchy. It sounds like the track has been generated on Band In a Box or similar program which is not such a bad thing but it would benefit from real musicians and more of a human feel.

Song: Hot Boiled Peanuts Instrumental

Reviewer: Joe Stewart

Positive Comments: Great down south feel and the use of instruments is also really good. It would be worth doing a vocal version of this with a low pitched male voice.Loved the end as it loses instruments and ends with just the fiddle.Nice recording with drums that match the feel, which is so important.

Constructive Comments: Not enough variation which makes it lose its appeal as it goes towards the end. It would be easy to make variations on this at various stages.

Positive Comments: Nice baritone voice that has a lot of character. The hook is clear and different from the verse which is good.Nice country feel that will appeal to a lot of country listeners.

Constructive Comments: Would benefit from more of a build in the instruments as the chorus approaches. Also I would prefer less reverb on the snare drum in the chorus.

Positive Comments: Good structure and phrasing. The title is clear and repeats. It’s amazing how many songs I listen to where you can’t tell what the title is and it’s very important for the listener to be able to identify it.

Constructive Comments: The keyboard is very repetitive and needs varying more. The song would benefit from more of a build up towards the chorus. At present the level is more or less the same in the verse and chorus and it needs to lift so the listener hears a definite hook.

Positive Comments: Love the brush feel. Reminded me of the feel that John Sebastian had with the Loving Spoonful.A real good time feel that is not heard often enough for me. Great work and I’ll make a point of listening to some of your other songs.Nice work.

Constructive Comments: The chorus needs to stand out more. This could be done by reducing the instruments a little in the verses and building them into the chorus. Either this or to add more in to the choruses.I also feel that adding harmonies to the vocals would strengthen the build up in the catchy parts.
