Positive Comments: You’ve taken a song that is a typical break-up song and made a listener feel almost good about it musically. This “sad song” had me smiling. I liked the way you phrased some of the lines and had a little variation in your inflections. I liked the phrase “Lovin’ on Borrowed Time.

Constructive Comments: The instrumental portion though sounding nice, seemed to go longer than it needed to. I did like the instrumentation used on this song. It worked well. I think the lyrics were a little typical and could have been a bit more creative. All in all, I really enjoyed this song and look forward to hearing more from you.

Positive Comments: A little different twist on the traditional coming home for Christmas tune. You definitely picked the right tempo for this song, it flowed really well and felt comfortable.

Constructive Comments: The song probably could have used a little more originality both lyrically and musically. It wasn’t bad but I just kept waiting to feel a little more gladness for coming home. I think I would have featured the instrumentation a little bit more, if only by a slight increase in volume. Nice tune overall. I will look for more of your songs.

Positive Comments: I like the fact that what begins as a traditional progression either holds and doesn’t change or jumps to a unexpected chord. This helps keep the listener involved. I initially felt that mom was bailing on the kids and her current situation when in reality all she needs is a break or maybe an accelerator.

Constructive Comments: I think the recording could have been a little cleaner and would enhance your song even more. The instrumentation was good though I felt it was sort of muddled. These are mere observations and not criticisms, I really enjoyed your song and look forward to listening to more of yours. Good job.

Zoui In Black / Heavy Metal by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Broadjam Artist: Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods
Song: Zoui In Black / Heavy Metal

Reviewer: Blame It On Cain

Positive Comments: Musically speaking, I really dig the tune. It flows, it’s decent as an instrumental, I think it has real potential if you added some lyrics/vocals. Could definitely be a marketable tune at that point.

Constructive Comments: Only constructive comments I have would have to say that the recording quality isn’t very good. It’s great for demo purposes, as far as getting an idea down to send to a partner to work on other parts, like lyrics/vocals. Tune has a lot of potential though.

Song: Saxametosis – real sax

Reviewer: Birthe Noer Myers

Positive Comments: The instruments converse in t his song without words. The drum chatters endlessly and the saxophone?? Clarinet ?? ( I am not a. musician, my metier is words ) yells its opinion with a shrill voice. It is a fun song, a pleasure to hear the tuneful and melodious “voices” of the instruments.

Constructive Comments: I like the song, I like the sounds the composer and musicians produce. I would like t o write words to Jazz music, it has such humor at its best.
