Constructive Comments: Good job here. Best of luck!

Positive Comments: If there isn’t a place for this song, there shouldn’t be a place for about 90 percent of what’s out there right now. Soul oozes from nearly every word. Some of the very best lyrics I’ve heard in a long time. This is grabbing the subject matter and nailing it with a sledge hammer. Also a great arrangement and performance.

Constructive Comments: Only flaw here is five second silence at onset. Great job!

Song: Something Part 1 instrumental

Positive Comments: Nice warm pads sets a comforting mood from the top. Good programming of the drums, feels real. I like how the melody resolves back to the theme from the B Section. good capture on the 6/8 (or 12/8 it is kind of a 4 count) feel. Digging the piano solo, interesting sound, pretty pads in the background. Very nice counter point and contrast in this song, everything makes good sense to me… then came the oboes and/or flutes (English Horn) in the end… nice touch. Feels like this song has many hooks… in the drums, synth lines and bass. The straight either notes in the synth against the triplet groove section is beautiful, it really turned out well (2:40 and 3:35). Mixed in very well it provided a fantastic contrast.

Constructive Comments: The piano solo is a little buried under the other instruments in around 3:05 to :15 but it wasn’t bad.

Positive Comments: Very cool choices of loops. Really dig the drum loops and bass line, synth parts are very cool then around 1 minute it’s on. Good programming in this jazz funk electronic smash up. Nice ‘B Section”, love the hint of filters osculating I think on the ride cymbals… very cool idea. Very well done, the percussion is very nice, not over done and everything nicely place in the mix and the parts are very complementary to one another.

Constructive Comments: Maybe too many breakdowns…. Seems it just starts grooving and everything changes. The times you changed were good, good phrasing I felt that some parts could have held longer and you embellished or modified the melody’s somewhat or improvised a touch. Felt too electronic to be jazz for me. Slightly redundant and the longer sections with variations might cure that.

Constructive Comments: Only thing I notice is that this song seems less like an instrumental, and more like a tune that needs words. I can even feel works kicking in in my head as I listen to it.

Dance In The Moonlight by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: Dance In The Moonlight

Reviewer: Dave Haddad (CenterPeace)

Positive Comments: Relaxing groove. Catchy tune with in-depth vocal harmonies. Arrangement is solid. Upbeat but doesn’t feel rushed. Love the vocal harmonies. Really enjoyed the guitar solo something we don’t hear much of anymore. All supporting tracks were well executed and fit the tune perfectly. I especially enjoyed the bass playing.

Constructive Comments: Felt that the strings got slightly in the way around 1:42 – 1:50, competing with the vocals (tough call, it’s not that bad the way it is). Maybe a little too much reverb on the guitar, in the end the tone and effects reminded me of “Sleepwalk”. This song is pepe so it doesn’t need too much long reverb and wash. Some low end popping not too bad but I could feel it around
