Positive Comments: Like the overall feel of this groove. The balance is pretty cool. It could be used in a backing track for a movie or a film soundtrack.

Constructive Comments: I kept waiting for the singer to come in. Instrumentals are ok too though. What would work tho is a break of some kind as the song is a little monotonous after 16 bars or so.A break gives the listener a chance to regroup a little bit. Or a key change, maybe”Music is Love”==============catnip======================

Constructive Comments: This number is ok as it but I think it would add to the overall goodness of the song if you went back and added a break. Remember how easily a listener gets bored.also, a voice would be good as always. Thanks for being on Broadjam!Remember, “Music is Love”==============catnip============

Positive Comments: Nice heavy sound that could be a 1987 Scorpions ballad or Boston or Kansas from 1980. The chorus is strong. I think this is The Noted.

Constructive Comments: This could have been an album cut from a successful 80’s album. But…I think this is really dated without anything that makes it work as a retro / neo version of an older sound.

Positive Comments: What a refreshing dose of musicality with the laid back Latin groove on some good sounding drums and a tasteful guitar tone and playing. And that’s some very deft bass playing. Nice dropout with the keyboard pads, and the change in guitar tone to a trebly Jeff Beck gritty but not too tone is very cool. There’s a lot of taste and skill in evidence here. And that’s a rare example of a dive bomb that sounds great. This reminds me of Jeff Beck and Johnny A, both instrumental aces!!

Constructive Comments: It’s not quite enough to stand alone as an instrumental but there’s some great sound and feeling here. This could be the start of a very good song. Or keep it instrumental and work on the melody sections a bit more.

Thick Cut / Rock Funk by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Positive Comments: Fingers pressing down on strings with frets permitting changing frequency range of the notes produced on an electric guitar. A rhythm preset allowing the inmates to get up and dance. Ah this takes me back to the days of being 12 and getting jollies from an electric guitar that I had no idea how to play.

Constructive Comments: Really? Do you need feedback on this?

Positive Comments: Ozzy laughing over top of the rhythm preset #56 with a shock theatre organ giving us the fear that’s only exceeded by that of the extra heavy slap delay. Sheer lunacy. Any time there’s something that really takes chances and presents fresh, original creativity it’s a good thing. Are they saying “Loon at Sea”? I thought loons were strictly freshwater birds…

Constructive Comments: Well, this is fun for you at least…LOL

Positive Comments: This has an Elton John Yellow Brick Road vibe. Banging piano groove over top of a tight bass & drums groove–with a driving bass part (cool work in the coda) and some really cool high hat work. This is a solid tune with good lyrics and hook.

Constructive Comments: You know I was about to give up on this because the intro was really “band in a box” and boring. Then the rhythm kicked in, and I was totally on board. So I suggest starting with the full band.Oh no no no Van Halen solos. Pick harmonics and relentless hammer on’s are so OVER. Says me. That solo just destroys the song daggonit.I think you can get a better vocal performance out of this. There are a few places where the phrasing is kinda draggy (first couple lines), you’re doing too much vocal fry (forced gravel voice), and are a bit flat in spots. You’ve got a good vocal timbre–I’d argue for trying some shorter, more staccato notes to avoid long holds where it’s easy to go flat. Add a 2nd vocal on the chorus parts throughout. This is good work–I’m picking at the stuff I’d change if I were producing…

Positive Comments: Yeah, sweet intro. Vocal is sweet. Nice use of sounds creating the rhythm track. Vocals are superb, especially the bridge. Loved the harmonies. The guitar playing and tone is exceptional! I liked the fade, it was a bit long but the curve felt very good and with the sweet guitar it DID make me want to hear more!

Constructive Comments: I enjoyed the cello parts that came in a couple sections but it felt out of place. Maybe an accordion or organ or fill up that string section or change the sound. A full string section would fill it out and still blend with the background vocals. Something about the triangle that bothered me, I think because the part is one that might be traditionally be played by the ride that it’s messing with my drummer brain. This is just me being weird and picky but I the panning on the percussion was again troublesome for me. The fact that the cross stick is to the left and the triangle thing there was a bit of a disconnect rhythmically which comes from guys like us doing all the parts. My songs suffer melodically. Anyways… I totally loved the song! Earl you are the man!! I truly admire your song writing and vocal arranging.

Positive Comments: Good mix of old and new the groove sounds very 60’s yet some sounds and the production is 50 years later. Good programming of the rhythm parts, I like your sense of musicality in the rhythm section. Nice melodies, I feel like you really nailed the core elements of this style… it was smooth but gritty. Mix sounds great, blend and panning all good if it feels good don’t “fix it” right? I think you have a great song here! Fun.

Constructive Comments: With that tom tom fill at the top, I thought it was going to be “Land Down Under” by Men at Work! Anyways, apologize for that. I don’t have too much here, maybe the guitars didn’t ‘bite’ enough… maybe hi eq boost and slight low cut and compress it a lot more then it cuts and has a little more feeling or passion. Maybe the guitars felt a little too laid back. I thought the fade was too long, felt like it started to fade but then held on and slowly went away. I get the idea it just sounded tentative. I feel that your song is together, I really liked it, I just review kind of tough and it seemed like the production could have been better. The mix was good but seemed a little dull, the song is great but didn’t grab me. Of course being a drummer, although your programming was very good I miss a live feel and touch so it does affect my overall impression.

Positive Comments: Song is well placed in the proper genre. Very creative approach. Good use off effects. Brave arrangement, I like your ability and boldness to do anything you want. original and unique ideas happening throughout. Recording is good, I like the aggressive hard panning and the proper instruments are featured. Very creative and inventive use of effects of all types. It was like a musical stew.

Constructive Comments: Was very hard to understand some words. The pauses seemed to have an extra beat, a 5/4 bar. Kind of throws off foot tapper. Also some parts are not so much in the pocket but I know this song is not concerned with precision… I am somewhat though. Ok this is just me but maybe a bit of over use on some effects but it does create a vibe. In vibe you get a 5!
