Positive Comments: Nice rhythm, good groove in there. Nice sounds and a good relationship between instruments. The mix is in place, great blend of the stringed instruments after :53. Very good use of what you have you really made a nice sounding product out of what sounds like standard sounds.

Constructive Comments: At :46 I thought it could kick in to a full ensemble. Almost a full 15 seconds of dead space at the end. Should only be a second or two. Felt like as soon as the song developed into something it stopped and broke it back down. Felt you could have ridden that momentum of what you built a bit more.

Constructive Comments: I really wish the vocal was more up front in this song, it sounded like the singer had a lot to say but it wasn’t clear or loud enough over the music. Great energy to the song though.

Positive Comments: Exceptional acoustic guitar work. A compelling tune and chord progression. Strong vocalist, who puts the song over with passion. The song has a timeless quality but fits in quite nicely to the current acoustic singer-songwriter scene.

Constructive Comments: I’ve marked down the quality of the recording not specifically because it has been badly recorded but rather because I think the mix could be better. For my money the vocal is too low in the mix given that the vocal is strong and ultimately the vocal sells the song. Also the track is too bassy to my ear and there is a 5 or 6 second gap at the start that should be cropped. I hope this doesn’t sound too critical it isn’t meant to be, because I like the song and the playing a lot.

Positive Comments: As for this genre of music, has a great indie pop sound and I can imagine a female vocal or mild male vocal on top of this. It has a somber yet uplifting vibe. Images of a rainy day letting up to bring the sunshine, came to mind. I feel like a vocal is needed to give it a shape. Enjoyed the easy on the ears sound.

Constructive Comments: It’s a demo recording so I would not focus on that for this review. Like I said above, I feel like a vocal is needed to give it more character.
