Positive Comments: I loved the piece… very strong melody and it has a great feel

Constructive Comments: I really liked the song itself, I guess that’s all that really matters, but the mix and recording masked a lot of very cool elements in my opinion. Everything sound on the same level and kind of jumbled. I didnt sense any depth or space. Both of which could be achieved using pan and reverb vs dry signal to create depth

Positive Comments: This was a very nice song… the performance was excellent, and the recording was done perfectly as well

Constructive Comments: Your voice is excellent… I would’ve added more compression to make it stand out i9n the mix. I would’ve also used pre delay on the reverb so the singer sounds like he is right in your face but the reverb trails off in the back ground. THis song is really up front and personal so just my opinion… great song

Reviewer: Mike Nielsen

Positive Comments: Over all song was nice Vocals were great. I instrumentation was also good.

Constructive Comments: Was a bit repetitious and the I looked at the time frame and had to cut it short. Verses tended to just repeat over and over. Song just could have used a bit more pizazz but the song itself was good just could used a bit more depth.

The Blue & Grey by Jimmy Joe Lee

Song: The Blue & Grey

Reviewer: Mike Nielsen

Positive Comments: Song was very nice and had a going off to war definite feel. Musicianship was well done and the production value was nice.

Constructive Comments: After I listened to it a bit, I saw a video of a mother watching her husband with her young child watching a dad going off to war, maybe civil war or WW2. Then the next verse could have had the grown man watching his son go to war maybe Iraq or Desert Storm. Then the last verse is at a graveyard with the grown man who came back watching his dad at his funeral with all the military trimmings, gun salute and etc.etc.etc… Next to them is the next son is will be ing going to war. Sort of like a family tradition of a family sending their men to war because it’s the American way.

Song: I’ll Take a Step Instrumental

Reviewer: Mike Nielsen

Positive Comments: Sound Quality was nice and clear.

Constructive Comments: Could have used a bit more organization. First part sounded like it was going in a good direction, but then it veered into something else. Rest of song lacked a lot of continuity. Musician ship was very tight and professional. Basically the song again could have used a bit more organization. Maybe repeat the first part twice then gone to a bridge. Could a “Wild Wood Flower” flavor down deep.

Song: A Love That Will Be Strong

Reviewer: Mike Nielsen

Positive Comments: Sounds very nice. Like a piano vocals like Henry Conic junior or the Christmas song, “All I want for Christmas…” version Mike “Boulievia”. {{Sorry about his last name but I think you know the artist}].

Constructive Comments: Second verse could have had some heavy bass or rest of band coming in. Starting out with just piano vocals but then breaking into the rock ballad vibe. Similar to the 80’s rock ballads like White Snake, “Here we Go Again” or Poison Tune. “Way Back Home”? Change Lyric to, “Then I looked into your eyes…”, maybe to keep a better rhythm lyric flow. But over all, the song has so much potential, if I had the money and connections, I have you cut it and get it out to stations. Ed Russell at Castle Records might like it. It could either way Rock Ballad or Country ballad like the Aerosmith, Mark Chesnutt tune back in the day. Good Luck.
