Positive Comments: Minds me of “SPACE” and also some 80s music. Fun. Sounds like could be a good backing track for film. A screaming wailing guitar riff might be good in this. The vocal fits the track. Is this a lunatic singing or a master magician of horror goth rock.

Constructive Comments: The cybal crashes sound a bit contrived. Overall is fun and a good haunted house track, or glow in the dark miniature golf, or film track. Oh no… I may be hearing Lunacy in my mind all night…

Song: Hollywood Dreaming

Reviewer: Jeff Maguire

Positive Comments: Pure classic rock, Bob Seeger meets the baby’s, nice ragged guitar sound, this has such a familiar sound, sort of like a collection of classic riffs out together in a new way. Organ sounds great, guiter is sloppy but rocking.

Constructive Comments: Constructive criticism would be that the drums are a little to static and generally sound canned, and there are to many unnecessary chord changes. There’s a lot going on, probably to much.

Positive Comments: Wow the vocalist really opens up in the chorus, like a Beth Hart or Bonnie Raitt or Susan Tedeschi. That’s some high calibre vocal work. And nice answering vocals. That chorus is killer.

Constructive Comments: The lyrics are super predictable and cliche in the verses, and the vocal performance is so uninspired and plodding there–which is surprising because you’re world class on the chorus both hook and vocals. Although the 2nd verse does have some seriously tasty moments. The intro guitar leads are loud, fuzzy heavy and *flat*. The first two would work but when it’s flat it’s torture. You gotta fix that the overall idea is really good. I would argue against the solo break in the middle–that’s not really working, IMO of course. This is a song that should be great when it all gets brought up to where you clearly could take it.

On and On by Cindy Dickenson

Positive Comments: This is a very classic acoustic rock tune, and it reminds me of Melissa Etheridge & Indigo Girls. That’s pretty good company. This is a really mellow tune, and has a lot of potential for a good festival / coffeehouse crowd pleaser.

Constructive Comments: I don’t like the Piezo sound of the acoustic–it’s hard to get a good mic sound with an acoustic but I’d urge you to mic it and not use the direct (or have it underneath as a subdued double). The intro is too long and doesn’t really tease much–I’d punch right in with the vocals. Watch the exuberant vocals at 2:16–you get a bit pitchy. And really you don’t need to wind it up that tight–the easy vocals are working very well. Adding more sophistication in the drums, bass, and percussion could really juice this tune up a lot.

Positive Comments: Wow this is catchy, and it’s one of the few that sounds like it would fit on contermporary Pop/Rock radio. The muffled guitar part is really cool, and the circular build of the intensity with added keys, percussion, and rising volume is extremely well done. The vocals are captivating and the melody is so good, with a nice accented punch on the beat (that’s a subtle thing to get done). The lyrics are grown up and compelling. This is a rare all 5’s review. Excellent work.

Constructive Comments: not a dang thing this is freakin awesome! Oh wait, one thing: tag it don’t fade the end. No one fades out anymore.

Positive Comments: This obviously Bill Dake, and it’s one of his best. Great lyrics, arrangement, and wistful vocal performance. Some mighty fine guitar work This is a great tune!!

Constructive Comments: There’s a lot of booming bass and low mid frequency that needs to be reined in. I think the backing vocals could use more coordination and tightening up on the timing, harmonies just have it punch really cleanly. The drums have too much room mic for my taste–I’d like to hear them closer.
