Positive Comments: I hear a David Bowie influence and lyrically Bob Dylan, and some Mott the Hoople. The lyrics make a statement. This is almost a punky folk song. I like the uniqueness of the song. The singer’s delivery really makes the listener pay attention to what’s happening in the song. Lyrically, there’s plenty here for most of us to relate to.

Constructive Comments: The flute/wind instrument almost overpowers everything else. I’d suggest brining the guitar up just a bit in the mix and more focus on the lead vocals. The lyrics are so powerful, it is a shame to have them overshadowed by the instrumentation in the mix. With the Bowie influence, I’d also consider adding a bit of delay.

Positive Comments: Interesting blend of Rush, Steely Dan and Metallica. I like the use of the synth as it adds an unexpected element to what I’m hearing. I’m envisioning a chase scene or a race as I’m listening. The production is great! Players are skilled. This has potential for a movie or television show.

Constructive Comments: The guitar tone may be just a bit too heavy without any vocals in front of it. I’d also think about the voicing on the synth/keyboards on its first melodic appearance. It just seems too far away from the rest of the instrumentation.

Can I Say I Love You /Pop Alternative by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: Can I Say I Love You /Pop Alternative

Reviewer: The Dots

Positive Comments: The players are skilled and adept. Very tight and together. The overall piece reminds me of something from a John Hughes sound track, very New Order. Production wise, everything is clear and easy to listen to. Very bright, good for the genre.

Constructive Comments: The chorus effect on the guitar blends heavily with the piano. The bass line is indistinguishable. Without lyrics, the piece is very repetitive.

Positive Comments: Obviously a kids song in a mock hip hop groove, pretty nice bass line, well recorded, not sure who it reminds me of … maybe Mr Rogers trying to appeal to a bunch of kids that like rap and hip hop.

Constructive Comments: Not really a rock song, probably more unique/children’s. I really don’t want to like it because it’s just so goofy and obvious. But the truth is I’m sitting here laughing my ass off at some of these lines, I hope the kids like it, and of course, mind there manners.

Come Closer / Latin Rock by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: Come Closer / Latin Rock

Reviewer: Christopher Ernest Severn

Positive Comments: Wonderful Latin feel with the guitar instrumentation. Harmony was clear and simple. I really liked the music. I would love to hear more from this artist. The production quality was very good your effort paid off there. I think it has good potential in advertising of personal care products. Oddly enough something about it reminded me of the Eagles.

Constructive Comments: In my opinion the lyric should have words with stronger emotions. I remember “romance” and “want” but no other emotionally charged words. I would express feelings about the person, the place, the music to enrich the lyrics. I think that some 4 part harmony may have given it a little more punch in some places.

Positive Comments: good groove – solid rocking’ best part is when the guitar does his triple licks…nice job!

Constructive Comments: song rocks, but I think the recording and the mix could be a bit hotter…bringing out the drums and bass in line with the guitar… guitar has some good licks going on – heard them in a couple of your other songs…nice job… keep on rocking in Germany!
