Positive Comments: Really like the composition and instrumentation and arrangement. Would make a good soundtrack for many film sequences. Definitely feel you are on a journey, almost by any physical means, and of course you hear the dogs like a sled race.Like the music sequences blending with other and gathering pace as it develops, then fold back on original melody.

Constructive Comments: I don’t think I can suggest improvements, it is already very good. (I’d like the challenge of writing lyrics for it, but that doesn’t mean it will improve it).

Song: THE DREAM with Julia Schmidt

Reviewer: HarryBudini

Positive Comments: It’s a charming and majestic ballad – dreamy, spacious, wide. The voice is admirable, the arrangement clean, clear and enticing. The melody reminds me of the softer Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder stuff. There’s an overall New Age atmosphere, but not trite, and which doesn’t put emotions in a trance – which is good. The wonderstruck piano works very well.

Constructive Comments: Nothing to say. Hope the song find success.

Positive Comments: A thorough ‘rock’ song. Good lyric line “Elvis on the telegraph pole”. Well sung, bu no big highs or lows. easy listening, toe tapping rock rhythm. A hint of country, should be on the juke box in the diner. Mellow rock voice, and I imagine good to jive to. Good arrangement.

Constructive Comments: The singer and guys were rocking, Route 66 style. Regular beat, good hook, nice arrangement. Maybe could do with a contrast refain to lift it a bit.But good listening and for dancing to. I think Line dancing rock ladies will like this.

Positive Comments: Felt more pop than rock, sentimental, easy listening. Bit college boy like a Troy Donahue. Smooth singing voice and interpretation. Arrangement, rather crooner 50’s 60’s in style. Sounded like it could be a film track song. Smooth ballad, rather than rock, and enjoyable.

Constructive Comments: Good voice and arrangement. Romantic lyrics, a woman/girl crying because ‘now its over’ as she listens. Still loves hearing his voice singing about their love. Mellow music, sentimental track, regret in the lyrics.

Positive Comments: Liked the funky, jazzy style and feel. Reminded me of The Pasadena Roof Orchestra from the 60’s. Very diddly, didn’t quite catch every lyric, and singer sounded a bit Bobby Darin, needing a refreshing drink a bit before the end. But, quirky and unusual, but also catchy.

Constructive Comments: Arrangement good, backing vocals coming in just right with the singer. Get up and dance to while you are listening.I think dancing with Chuck Berry would be great to this track.Hope you make some more tracks and get gigs.

Positive Comments: A very well played and well sung song. Guitar sound quality is crisp and clear. Vocals are in tune and emotive.I generally like the lyrics. They’re descriptive, but leave a little open to listener interpretation.I like the change of energy in the bridge. It really livens the song up.

Constructive Comments: The intro drags on a little bit for my tastes. There’s a lot of dead space after the first chorus that could be cut.”I want to go home” is an honest, simple sentiment that a lot of us feel, but it has been used to death in songs like this. Is there another way to put it?

Lumbering Mountain (from “Live” CD, “Black & White”) by Chet Nichols

Song: Lumbering Mountain (from “Live” CD, “Black & White”)

Reviewer: Kyle Rightley

Positive Comments: Cool, original chord progression. Some of it reminds me of Led Zeppelin.Nice warm vibrato on the voice. Pitch is also good.

Constructive Comments: The recording hiss and overuse of reverb on the vocal is distracting to the listener. The reverb, in particular, makes it hard to hear lyrics. The “up on Murray (or memory?) Mountain” repeated line is the closest thing to a hook. I wanted to hear it sooner.
