Reviewer: John Masarone

Positive Comments: Love the parts with the Phrygian mode giving the tune a Middle Easter flavor to it. It was sort of unexpected after the opening acoustic guitar. I liked the climb at 2:00 too. I could hear this in some sort of slow motion sports highlight reel.

Constructive Comments: I listened on my studio monitors (a few times). I think the mix is right in there. It certainly has a really good stereo spread, something I’m always preaching. As you know mixing is an art and there is no right way. If I was mixing it I would have less reverb. That’s it. Good one!

Positive Comments: I really like the piano part in this song…perfect and appropriate. Nice lyrics and I enjoy listening to the way the song blends. This love song is not overdone–more of a tribute. Nicely done. And it does not drag on and on. Perfect ending and timing.

Constructive Comments: Nothing to say in a negative way.

Constructive Comments: Like I said…fun song. Can’t think of anything to add, but something clever at the very end might cap off the song.

Positive Comments: This was a very interesting track to listen to…seemed more like rap to me. I found the lyrics quite engaging, original and fresh. Gotta love the rhyme Kilamanjaro/tomorrow. That’s…amazing. This song is not in my cultural comfort zone, so some of the expressions that might seem crude to me might be acceptable to someone who lives in the inner city. (I am an older lady who lives in a rural setting). But I can recognize talent and you definitely have it.

Constructive Comments: Stay true to those promises you expressed so amazingly in the song. No cheating no mo’, baby I’m yours. May this be always true. You mention God in your song. He has kept me and my husband together in His loving hands for over 43 years. Praise to Jesus!

Positive Comments: Sounds like whoever created this track had a good time doing it, adding in different elements and sounds with the synthesizer. I especially liked it when the egg shaker sound came in. Very cool bass underlying comes out in a certain spot…would like to hear more of that.

Constructive Comments: Use a little more sustain or a “gentler” setting on the piano for what you are trying to achieve here. Remember when striving to make it memorable…keep your hook simple.

Don’t Wait My Heart / Country by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: Don’t Wait My Heart / Country

Reviewer: Michael Cregan

Positive Comments: Love the guitar work. Great lilting instrumental and puts me in a good mood. Would even be interested in having it be longer. Very nice.

Constructive Comments: From the intro not quite sure this was Country-Contemporary. Kept waiting or the vocal to start, but it didn’t. this appears to be an instrumental, but i wouldn’t say, ‘Country,” more folk or Americana. I do feel this would be more effectively reviewed under another category. There is background noise on the track, and that is why a 3 on that aspect. Guitar does sound good though.

Positive Comments: This is a well written song with good production, a strong voice, and a great deal of commercial potential … good luck.

Constructive Comments: Constructive criticism would be get to the intense build sooner and make the hook a little more obvious … if I hear it correctly it’s ” she’s been taken ” , you’ve drawn the character quite well but it’s that one line at the right time that puts it all together and makes people go ” wow “, that will sell it. I’d hit the musical peak at that point and probably go to a full drum beat sooner. Lot of great potential here and the potential for a very powerful track.

Song: between here and there

Reviewer: Bonfire

Positive Comments: Would be excellent for film or war game, or theatre. Very original, building up tension, communicating that though you might be listening, watching, would not want to be in it. Excellent use of instrumentation, and conjured heightened awareness, fear, trepidation. Also stands as a strong single track. Great composing.

Constructive Comments: I don’t think you could improve this composition. It is very strong, well conceived and imaginative. There has to be a film or saga game that could/would use it. Spooky, hairs stand up at the back of your neck effect. Dramatic, scene setting. Deserves to be heard and appreciated, and would please many ddirectors/producers.
