Positive Comments: Various genre elements present but my field of choice is World. Wow there is a lot going on here and all of it good!! Lot’s of quality playing on this track. Musically challenging and delivered with smooth precision… there are great musicians. Nice drum track, great touch. Cool break time at 1:54! I like the little surprises this track dishes out. I REALLY dig the playing in this song, great job…. I like the way you ‘go for it’!

Constructive Comments: This is a tough mix to do, lots of strings, double bass, pizzicato then the electric and clean guitars.. You generally did a good job – the drums and bass relationship is good and other than the fact that the kick is super over the top loud, the rhythm sections sounds great and is representing (hi-hat is low, maybe just a little boost in the high-mid eq would do it). Sometimes the track got too ‘notey’ for me but I’m old… I loved fusion music like no one else when I was young. Drummer also seems to know the song very well and I say this because he would change patterns in the middle of a sections as if he were thinking ‘oh maybe I should play 1/2 time in this section’… only a couple times though.

Positive Comments: Love the overall recording sound, it being all live makes me happy. Really cool vocal harmonies in the chorus, reminds me of Cheap Trick or amazing The Tubes! I love music like this, it’s taking me on a journey, it’s upbeat and benevolent, 🙂 Sweet fade too with the guitar solo just starting… that’s smart, makes the listener want more…. I listened to this song several times and my thoughts are that most of the elements for a block buster song are here. With a solid ‘Bun E Carlos’ drum track this song would be on another level. Best of luck, I loved it!

Constructive Comments: Little pop at 1:12 (listen super closely for little things like that). The rhythm section is not represented in this song and it’s too bad because the song would be 10 times better (imo) with live drums. This could be a very cool rock song… all the elements are there except the drums. The hand drum, tomtom or congas didn’t do this song justice. I do understand not having access to drums or a drummer so I get it. I could record mobile for you, we could work something out… heck I’m sure you know drummers… but I have a studio and getting a great sound these days. I would have liked to hear an electric guitar track pedaling with the bass in the Chorus section….. I am feeling way more rock then world for this song. I understand the tribal drum part but the rest of the song is very mainstream rock for me.

Positive Comments: Good musical ideas. Nice female vocal in the background, nice effect. Very warm feel to the song happy, festive and welcoming. Very nice use of synthesizers. Seriously cool vibe captured from the very beginning which is NOT always easy to do. Good parts by the ‘music’. I like how the arrangement allowed for a lot of instrumental space… the strings around 1:30 were especially nice.

Constructive Comments: Drums are buried…. Art, haven’t I told you? In my opinion you need to start your mix with the drums… get them hot in the mix and sounding good and balanced. That is your foundation. When I listen to your music I feel like the vocals are your foundation. Now that’s not bad but the instruments suffer. Mute all instruments…. Get the drums happening, then add the bass and balance it with the kick or overall drums. Continue unmuting instruments until they are all in sounding balanced and sweet. Then bring in your vocals. My main thing with your songs is the out of balance mix. The guitar is mixed low too, and I feel the eq could be warmer… on a sound like this guitar try (and I emphasis try) some extreme eq boost 2 to 5 dbs around 200hz – 315hz and cut a little around 2.5k (guitar is actually not bad dude). The guitar won’t sound so piercing and thin. I was tapping my foot then at 1:40 you added about 1.3 count extra in that pause, I had to reset my tapping foot (no-no unless you’re going rubato or free). Then at 2:46 there is a pop on the right is (listen very carefully and when you hear little things like that can you do a crossfade?? Assuming you are doing computer based recordings…

Positive Comments: Youve done an excellent job of orchestrating this. I didnt understand the wind chimes, but it may have been a part of your concept… on this site its hard to tell where the artist is going with it until after you read about the piece and the artist.

Constructive Comments: not much in the way of constructive criticism… you did a good job on this

Constructive Comments: Consider getting a more convincing synth piano. The chords were very interesting but I wondered if you included every chord you knew… after awhile the changes became so plentiful that I wanted you to go back to the central theme. All in all this was a very nice piece of music
