Positive Comments: It’s metal. The singer tends to growl, the drums beat hard, the guitars roar. Different solos take turns. There’s a sort of brief pause 3/4 into the song – then goes back to full attack.

Constructive Comments: I don’t have any suggestion of sorts.

Song: Spirit

Reviewer: Jeff Maguire

Positive Comments: Super guitar tone with a very nice vibrato in a classic blues setting.

Constructive Comments: Sweet guitar tone, nicely played with very appropriate note choice and phrasing overall. Background seems cut and pasted. Any blues guitar this long should really build some heat , or go somewhere and come back, and from an arranging standpoint it doesn’t really. And to be honest the fade at the end seems a bit lazy.

Song: The Beacons of Hope

Reviewer: Jeff Roberts

Positive Comments: This sounds like someone really enjoying themselves crafting music. And that’s what it’s all about!

Constructive Comments: The key sound is a bit clunky and the execution crunches too many block chords together which gives a jarring sound. I’d argue for pulling the 5ths out of the chords and go with 3rd orr 6tth intervals and single notes when the melodic movement is fast so that you don’t get the clashing.

Song: Gone

Reviewer: Jeff Roberts

Positive Comments: Nice big open sound with lots of space and air in the mix. Good classic country lyrics and approach (not Contemporary but so much better for that). This has echoes of George Jones and a vocal approach a lot like Randy Travis. Superb guitar lead fill at 3:00. I really enjoyed this–real Country is always a pleasure.

Constructive Comments: The vocal reverb is too much like a tight bouncy room or this there a short delay 90ms on it? It’s not warm enough. I think this could be fixed pretty easily.

Song: Cowboys and Indians

Reviewer: Gladstone Avenue

Positive Comments: Really like this idea and it does inspire some nice lyrics in the song. Writing about a young boy who was to be a cowboy…nicely done. Song does grow on one the longer you listen. Nice transition from boyhood to a grown up, recapturing the sentiment of boyhood. I really like what you did with this song.

Constructive Comments: Two comments. I think the recording could be a bit crisper. Also, it is a bit long— but then again-I listened all the way through to see where it was going, so perhaps that is not a fair comment. Really like the song!
