Positive Comments: Heartfelt song of gratitude to the Lord. The songwriter owes Him everything is the very sincere message of this song. The best verse, in my opinion, is the one with the ocean waves. Can they wash his sins away? Then the next original thought is the reference to baptism, which really worked well for the song. Randal Dunkle loves the Lord, and it comes through in every song he writes!

Constructive Comments: In the beginning of the song the instrumentation is so high in the mix that I couldn’t make out the lyrics. First lyric I was able to discern was “Take my breath away.” So I’d recommend adjusting the mix so the lyric isn’t muddied up in the mix. Work on clarity and pitch in your vocals. Or hire a demo singer.

Positive Comments: I liked your “this is a rough demo” intro. Nice to have that qualifier…you’re inviting comments, so here goes. I think you have a really good chorus here. First words out of your heart (not mouth, that was creative). And thank God your next line wasn’t “I’d know we’d never part.” 🙂 Your first verse is the strongest with the sunshine/warming/magnet word pictures. Bridge is well placed. I liked the triple rhyme same/name/came. I liked the honesty/freshness of the lyric “I hoped you weren’t already taken” Wide open was a stretch but it sort of worked as a soft rhyme.

Constructive Comments: Vocals are a bit muddy and hard to discern the words in certain parts. Pitch is sometimes an issue. I’d like to see more consistency in the rhyme scheme in the verses. It seems rather haphazard to me. Keep working, songwriter! You’ve got a good start (just like the relationship in the song). I always wonder when I hear songs like this if it’s about a real person or made up.

Positive Comments: Here’s a song of belief and trust. A lot of thought was put into the band, production and arrangement. There are some really good players in there, especially the lead guitar player. Vocals are clear in a very passionate performance. Interesting arpeggios in the 2nd part of the introduction, very pleasing to the ears. The chorus is stronger than the verses, but still…where are the rhymes?

Constructive Comments: The introduction is way too long. The vocal comes in so abruptly, it’s surprising. I think that there is too much of the echo effect on the vocal. It’s nice in maybe one part of the song for a interest feature, but in this case, I think it’s overdone. I think the lyrics need work. They don’t flow or tell a story they seem rather repetitive.

Positive Comments: A remake of a classic song from the early 60s

Constructive Comments: I really like the original and its hard for me to listen to something much different than that….this is almost jazzy or world music–it would not fall into a current pop format

Positive Comments: I like to listen to this kind of music when I want to be creative and have some alone time pondering. When I heard this, I thought of a dolphin swimming near a shoreline – where children are playing in the sand at the beach – and the dolphin can hear the laughs of the children playing through the water’s boundaries. A full-bodied production like this with a unique strange hook always gets me going. I imagine big bold palm trees, blue skies, and a lonely dolphin who only wants to make friends with the children at the shore.

Constructive Comments: This is so unique – what do I say? Hmmm … Dunno! OK, 5 stars. That ending! Over n Out!
