Song: Living in the Trees

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Really liked the intro chords – slightly unusual which always gets my attention quickly – bit like the track by Ian Brown called Whispers (singer with the British rock band Stone Roses). Guitar player on that track was Francis Dunnery, ex It Bites front man who is awesome.

Constructive Comments: None to add, enjoyed it!

Constructive Comments: Nice smooth song – but it just cruises along and never really breaks out. It would be a bit more grabbing if it had more of a dynamic change or two, to kind of wake you up and make you listen! Good job though…it’s all good in one way or another… ‘it’s music!’

Song: Changed My Life

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Really liked the strings coming in at 35 seconds, building the song nicely, followed by the multi-tracking or chorus on the lead vocal for the chorus – really gave it a lift.

Constructive Comments: I want to give you constructive feedback but cannot find anything that would need changing, save maybe for that snare drum sound, but that sounds picky on my part!

Song: We Three Kings/ Greensleeves

Reviewer: James Neilson Graham

Positive Comments: Your juxtaposition of We Three Kings and Greensleeves works surprisingly well on the guitar, given that both are in three metre. Just two parts, bass and melody, gives a kind of mediaeval flavour. There is a lute-like, spare quality about the playing, not trying to be anything other than what it is. I liked it.

Constructive Comments: At first I was expecting a voice to enter but the piece quickly declares itself an instrumental and invites the listener to enjoy it as such – which I did.

Song: Last Free Man In America

Reviewer: Nigel Barrett

Positive Comments: Very catchy tune – kind of old school with a modern twist. Great arrangement with vocal harmonies and highs and lows.

Constructive Comments: None to add as the arranger has done a great job of adding bits where needed and leaving them out where they would be too much.

Positive Comments: This is relaxing music of the best kind. Always harmonically and melodically interesting. Skilful piano playing. Could imagine it as the soundtrack for a film.

Constructive Comments: At first I was waiting for the voice to come in, but it works a treat as an instrumental.

Constructive Comments: if there there was one thing that stuck out it my mind , it was the sonic quality of the snare drum… don’t know if you want to re eq it or change the sample…. i think that would really help the tune ….in my humble opinion…cheers..

Positive Comments: Very Ben Folds-esque. Good guitar tone as well. I love the hook. Catchy as hell. I could listen to this song all day for that hook alone. Nice harmonies and musicianship amongst the band members, unless this is all one person. Then in that case, I say that’s awesome!

Constructive Comments: Nothing negative to say whatsoever.
