Positive Comments: Makes me want to dance – would like to here a more upbeat approach on the vocal – it’s really good but a little sleepy. I don’t think that’s a bad thing – but I think it could be ‘attacked’ more.Love it though – can really hear it as a movie soundtrack

Constructive Comments: “`as above really – perhaps the doo waps backing vox are a bit dated? what do I know!

Song: GUNTHER THE TRAPPER

Reviewer: Jeff Maguire

Positive Comments: Has a very familiar sound to it, sort of like putting on a pair of old shoes, maybe early Doobies meets Jim Croce.

Constructive Comments: Recording is very rough, mix is way off in spots, vocals are low ect … the basic idea is great, guitar playing is very tasty , but the constant changing off between riffs give the whole thing a disjointed effect that for me at least keeps it from really taking off like it could. Two lines and then a harmonica riff just doesn’t make the lyrics roll right to my ear.

Positive Comments: Your sweetheart is expecting you to do something special this coming Valentines. Early planning is a must. So, with your newly-hired world-famous chef in the kitchen and your pleasant best-friend acting as your waiter you swoon your sweetheart at a special Valentine’s Dinner just for you two and this music is playing in the background – a nice thoughtful scene indeed.

Constructive Comments: I enjoyed listening. Small complaint – was wondering if some reverb and stereo enhancement in the mixing stage would open up the sound space some.

Positive Comments: If you like listening to contemporary instrumental music that is smooth, open and inviting with a positive vibe – this one is for you. A skilled guitarist takes you on a stroll with this blues-styled motif that is relaxing.

Constructive Comments: I listened to this twice. What stood out most is that there are no pauses or breaks in the piece. The lack of pauses doesn’t allow any memorable harmonies to come through in the instruments. The style, chosen instruments, key and all work together but is all destroyed by the lack of the pause to allow the listener to get the musical picture. If this song is re-recorded with some stops along the way … it would take the piece to another level. I think another EQ-cutting pass through the instruments might be good.

Positive Comments: This is a very enjoyable piece of what I call fusion music … I’m picturing a contemporary setting in a bar everything is white, blue lights splash the background the people are dressed in white going to and fro mingling and having happy and smooth times. I played this song twice and I enjoy the smooth jazzy quality. I liked the electric guitar that comes in later in the piece – nice touch.

Constructive Comments: I would have given higher marks but the negatives surround the EQ/Mixing not the musicality. The piano is slightly muddy, needs a cut in the EQ and a boost for slight presence. I think this song could open up more in the sound field. I think with some work on reverb and stereo image this piece of music could scoop up a person when they are listening. I would not categorize this as New Age I believe smooth-jazz would be better.

Song: The anatomy of hope and fear #14 Captivated

Reviewer: Floyd Kelly

Positive Comments: A skillful pianist plays something curious and that is enticing luring you into a space of centeredness perhaps one-ness. A slight haunt with some pizzicato strings adds more suspense to the music. If you’re a music supervisor looking for suspenseful backdrop music, this one works.

Constructive Comments: This is a nice piece of music however, my musical ears did tire of the same riff being played by the piano and the strings – was wanting a little variation. I think a low-register string section would have added nicely to this to give it more drama. The recording of the piano seems a little muddy perhaps a cut in the EQ for the piano.
