Song: HE’S ME WHEN I WAS HIM

Reviewer: Nick Berry

Positive Comments: This song has an interesting story line, which is what Country music is all about. The instrumentation was well done and overall production sounded good. It’s a good toe-tappin’ kind of song. It was very original in terms of the writing. I like how it flowed.

Constructive Comments: I don’t really have anything constructive to add.

Positive Comments: I like this except for how short it is. Particularly at the end of the song when the instruments drop out and it’s just the beautiful harmonies. Is this the same vocalist singing all the parts? I do like this, just wish it was longer!

Constructive Comments: Lead vocals need to come up in the mix at the beginning of the song when there is instrumentation happening. Is this only part of a song? The very short duration of it confused me… I want to hear the full version!

Positive Comments: I like the lead vocals. Guitar playing is solid. I would like to hear a full production of this as a country song. But appreciate this as an acoustic version.

Constructive Comments: I felt like the lyrics rambled a bit, and maybe a little simplistic. Not much to say about production quality since it is simply guitar and vocals. Sounds good.

Song: Trumbo’s Song A Reflection on War

Reviewer: The Cram’s

Positive Comments: I feel like the singer believes in what he is singing about. I love the raspiness in his voice. The fiddle playing is beautiful, and other instrumentation are all first class. Nicely done!

Constructive Comments: Overall recording volume needs to come up. I would like just a little more energy in the performance. Maybe build the intensity and little more, as it seemed a little too restrained overall.

Positive Comments: Great guitar work. Love the fiddle work. Nice harmonies. Nice, peppy, upbeat song. Love the optimism in the lyrics. All around good production. Well done.

Constructive Comments: While pitch was great in both lead and backing vocals, I would like to hear more energy and emotion in the performances. I think if you could accomplish this, it could really brighten up the song overall… That being said, we’ll done!

Song: Man Up

Reviewer: Black Diamonds

Positive Comments: I liked the string, drums, and the changes that occurred, in the beat. The balance between the instruments seemed good, and it did not feel like a style of beat that I’very heard too many times, which was nice. Listening to it really made me wonder what a lyricist would do with the beat, which again speaks to the fact that it was pleasantly unique.

Constructive Comments: I liked the initial impact of the beat, and the string parts changing, but because some of the other elements stayed put, I had trouble easily identifying the changing parts of the song. I think if the bass line was more dynamic, it could have helped create more distinction between verse and chorus sections. I’mean also not sure, but it appeared the panning of certain elements were panned a little hard.

Song: How You Love That

Reviewer: Black Diamonds

Positive Comments: This track had a lot of commercial appeal. From the beat to the hook, to the verses, the artists/producer, really captured the essence of a lot of late 90s to early 2000s rap. All of the elements were well done, and really fit the genre. The overall mix was really good, and it sounded like a professionally produced track.

Constructive Comments: The song may have trouble capturing a lot of listeners attention, today It sounded like a really well done throwback. I’m not sure what the demand for this Era of rap is, right now, but if there is a demand, the song is competitive. Although the song was very fitting, it did come off a bit cliche. The instrumental track was so familiar, and the lyrical content was as well.
