Reviewer: Bobby Caputo

Positive Comments: Sad song of losing the love once had and wondering…hoping…can it return? Clean recording and a clear effective female vocal. Lyrics are consistent and drive the storyline well.

Constructive Comments: “Can we love again” is so depressing…Think the lyrics, while consistent, never really showed any real hope….even the bridge doubled down on the depression….”never find”? Also…that cymbal in the bridge was annoying and really was distracting with no real purpose.

Positive Comments: Nice little Buffett-influenced number with some really nice guitar work. Like the build up of lyrics from sitting doing nothing… to rum and steel drums. Daydreaming kinda tune…

Constructive Comments: Thought the overall sound was thin….the middle instrumental part went on too long…this one actually could have used a bridge….(I know…I hate that critique!!…lol)

Positive Comments: You have good ideas! With some attention to details your music could become very commercial

Constructive Comments: The main problem for me is the lack of realism. Its sounding too midi. I know you can achieve a better orchestral sound with samples just listen carefully each instrument and always think about a real player playing the line you wrote. How much realism is ideal? Listem a guy called James Everingham, I know the music of this guy is all samples and it sounds very very realistic.

Positive Comments: Very tuneful pop rock tune reminiscent of the Kinks, nice use of vocal harmonies and variation in arrangement.

Constructive Comments: A couple of the vocal effects were more annoying than anything else, probably is a little to long as well. Good tune overall though. Still not really clear what the hook actually is, as opposed to something like ” you really got me ” , for which there is exactly no doubt.

Song: Head On Down The Road

Positive Comments: Solid performance for the genre. Smooth ambience, workable content for editing, and an ideal candidate for metadata searches. I’d hire you all to perform at a neighbourhood tavern provided you had a set to play.

Constructive Comments: Most of my reservations are in your hook, a few timing issues in spots, and the engineering. Your hook gets lost in too much lyrical content. I need something more to hold onto. There were some spots I felt like the timing got miffed. I’d rerecord those spots. Vocals sounded great, if we could get the rest of the band to sound as big and large as the vocals, I’d be more drawn to this production than I am. A lot of people are lyrical content people, and that’s fine. As a music supervisor competing with made names, I need a full package, I think if you elevated your sound with more engineering and mastering, a lot of the previously mentioned issues will go down easier.

Positive Comments: This is an interesting song, especially the second half. The first half sounds like it could be written for a commercial purpose. The guitar work through this is nice.

Constructive Comments: This observation is more neutral instead of negative, but this sounds like two separate songs. The two halves don’t really go together. The first and last part could be a song with a guitar solo in the middle. I could see a double time solo section, but all the electronic instruments in this give the middle section a VERY different sound – not really jazzy, but a more novelty type of sound. If everything was live acoustic or better quality programming, it would surely have a different sound.

Positive Comments: This is a very interesting sound…it has elements of jazz, but I think it can’t really be pigeonholed into one genre. It definitely gets points for originality! I like the groove underlying this and whatever electronic instrument is playing the melody.

Constructive Comments: The only thing I would have to say is if it’s unclassifiable, it’s also hard to market. But maybe you are writing more for creativity’s sake. It is a really cool song!
