Positive Comments: I enjoyed the classic singer songwriter feel to this one. Brought me back to the days my mom would sit on the porch with me as a child, sipping wine, listening to 80s broken heart songs. It served its purpose and somehow helped her smile when times got tough for her. She’d swing me around slightly intoxicated on wine while singing Boston, sometimes a hint to the first smile I’d seen from her in weeks… and any gag reflex most children would have, would get shelved for a sense of relief to see her smile. That’s how I got into Elton John actually… But that’s another review (smiles.) Speaking of quality lyrics, I really dug these lyrics. Relatable at one point… light years past this mood and mindset these days, but it has value, just make sure your metadata is on.
Constructive Comments: You could benefit from a little more separation in your stereo stage. The instruments could sound more personal in their microphone positioning, the dynamics could us a nice plushening, mastering could likely get another 8db out of this mix while keeping it bouncy. Most of your fixes are all engineering. The rest is solid for its genre.
