Constructive Comments: vocals need to be out front, a few cheesy rhymes,”this is what I say is real” to me its more pop than any kind of country, especially country blues. as a pop song it has more potential. lyrics are real hard to understand.

Positive Comments: Tom Waits is alive and well and posting tracks on Broadjam apparently. Outstanding songwriting, so good in fact, that I’m having a hard time believing that it’s original and not a cover. If it’s a true original track it is extremely well written on every level and ought to be recorded by a major artist.

Constructive Comments: As above. Voice is almost exactly Tom Waits but there are a few spots where it could use a little bit of help. Song is outstanding, if you wrote it, you should sell it. If it’s a cover it’s an ok cover.

Positive Comments: This song has a real good feel. Kinda puts a smile on your face. Just the vague image of two bathing beauties is enough to give a feel good, Jimmy Buffett, vibe. Singer kinda sounds like Buffett and the recording was nice and clean.

Constructive Comments: While “bathing beauties” was a great image. I had to come up with my own idea of what the song was about…the lyrics were pretty abstract…they set a mood…but I still don’t know who these people are. Was kinda on a path to…these are your kids…two girls…you’re on the porch listening to their conversation…but then the chorus threw me off…”their hearts might be undressed”?Dunno…

Song: The Mother Road (#1 Folk-Americana)

Positive Comments: An excellent lyric that takes us on a trip behind the wheel …This is very reminiscentof something John Stewart might have penned…He was a big Route 66 guy and this lyric reminds me of him. I had never heard the term Mother Road…I guess I’ve been sheltered in my apartment too long…good work.

Constructive Comments: The term “Mother Road” confused me at first…luckily the lyric straightened me out. The intro was way too long…thought it was gonna be an instrumental and if I wasn’t reviewing, I would have changed the channel before you started singing. The end was similar…sloppy fade…maybe just end with “The Mother Road” and a nice strum.

Positive Comments: Real sweet song about a child of yours I suspect. Vocal is shaky but very real and very proud of this girl. The recording is very tight and clean…I caught it all…I think the highlight is the around the 2:40 mark where the singer had to stretch a bit and brought some exuberance to the song.

Constructive Comments: Like I said…the vocal was a little shaky, but I think a change of key would strengthen that…seems like the fiddle drove the key…and the fiddle, while played nicely was sharp a lot…a lower register would have helped, but then I guess that wouldn’t work for the singer. Sweet song.

Constructive Comments: I think the sound is a bit dull, some of the instruments could be replaced. The strings could sounds better, the drums could also use better samples. Otherwise I think its a nice melody and a good composition, it just needs a bit better samples and mixing!
