Positive Comments: Great hook! The lyrics are really good with a great message.

Constructive Comments: I was a little disappointed in the instrumentation. A song this good should have powerful guitar parts and licks but I found this a little light. I would recommend re-recording this song with a good producer to beef up the instruments (guitar and bass especially).

Positive Comments: This tune is very mellow and laid back, I love the sound of the drums and the saxophone and all the other horns and reeds, I also like all the cool blues licks on the guitar lead.

Constructive Comments: Very good sound, this is a really special song and I think it has a great potential, sounds like old school stuff – which I love!

Positive Comments: There were a couple of lines in the lyrics that were fun and caught me by surprise. I think there is a good start here.

Constructive Comments: This comment is just about my ear but here is what I thought. I felt like the song was a little unconventional. It didn’t seem to be following a pattern or structure that let me feel comfortable. There were places where the chord pattern went somewhere unexpected. There are rules about songwriting and it is ok to break those rules but it is risking because it can throw the listener off. I think that’s what happen for me.

Song: Find Your Way

Reviewer: Christina Linda Lyons

Positive Comments: Very pleasing new-agey piano piece in the style of Richard Clayderman. Evokes meditative and slightly sad feel, like a farewell or regret. Has a beautiful rhythm. Has a nice second entry at 2:21. I thought it was over already after a super cute and peaceful ending with an ascending arpeggio, but it started up again. Has a strange ending in a different key makes the listener listen up.

Constructive Comments: A little too long maybe.

Positive Comments: This has a really nice tune. It is arranged well.

Constructive Comments: This is just a personal thing but I am personally getting a little tired of songs that have “the river” or “fishing” or “pick up trucks”. I think it is becoming a little cliche to use these in a song. Other than that I really liked the song.

Positive Comments: Nice waltz with harpsichord sound and very Baroque feeling. Would make a good background music for historical film.

Constructive Comments: A bit long for my taste. Maybe add a climax according to the “Golden Rule” at about two thirds of the piece? I did not like the ending it was a little bit too abrupt. Perhaps lead into it with a few different measures?

Song: Quiet Plot By A Willow

Positive Comments: New-agey piano music with a strong ostinato as theme. General feel is rather sad or mediative. It reminds one of raindrops falling into a quiet lake. Has a nice ending. Would make nice background music in calm environments.

Constructive Comments: I personally would add a climax breaking away from the ostinato, and later returning to it. Maybe vary the rhythm by adding triplets or syncopation? Overall, very calming.

Positive Comments: Nice, new-agey song with lots of emotion. As soon as the strings come it, it becomes very passionate. Perfect for meditation or as film score for a romantic or love scene. Sounds like repertoire from Richard Clayderman. Overall, very pleasing.

Constructive Comments: The beginning with just the piano was a little thin, but it was probably intended to bring out the climax with the added violins more.

Song: The Thrift Store Song

Reviewer: Christina Linda Lyons

Positive Comments: Super cool song that will reflect how many poorer children feel (shopping at thrift stores and Dollar Stores and garage sales). I like the morale, “beauty is inside you.” It will resonate well with children and teach them not to follow peer pressure to wear the newest brands. The arrangement was excellent, and the voice of the soloist beautiful.

Constructive Comments: Perfect! I have nothing to suggest. This song will appeal to all children. It teaches the ones from lower socio-economic status not to be ashamed of their second-hand clothes and toys, and those from a higher socio-economic status not to belittle poorer kids due to their outfits, because it’s the beauty inside of them that counts. This song would be good for children’s camps, kindergartens, schools, and religious groups of different kinds. It would be cool to play at fundraiser events from boy scouts/girl scouts.
