Song: Party At My House

Positive Comments: The intro sets up the situation. The singer has decided to throw an eviction party and destroy the property to punish the mean ole banker. The lyrics are easy to follow and the story may have a limited appeal to a select group of people. The song reminds me of the type played at the end of the gig, when everybody is good and wasted. Something in your style reminds me of, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”

Constructive Comments: The topic is disturbing. The singer takes no responsibility for the eviction, blaming it entirely on the banker. The singer sounds drunk. The musical bridge is too long, at around 45 seconds. Instead of the bridge, the story could have used another verse to develop the plot further. The singer should have some redeeming quality. I’m sorry to not give you more encouragement.

Positive Comments: Nice vibe! Reminds me of rock in the 90’s. I like the change-up of vocalists from verses to chorus, as it adds another dimension to your story. Good blend of instruments and vocals. The musical bridge added a good transition. The theme is universal.

Constructive Comments: Had a little trouble understanding the male vocalist, but he has a nice voice. I thought the song should have a faster pace. Overall, good job!

Positive Comments: Very tuneful and well produced piece of pop rock and roll. Reminds me of the Travelling Willbury’s with hints of ELO and the Beatles. Every note is in the right place.

Constructive Comments: Not much to criticize, it’s well done arranging and performance wise, very professional. If this is self produced you are very good. Only thing for me personally is the lyrics are very much the happy sing song kind and extremely simplistic, so frankly they do nothing for me. But this could make it into a movie, TV show, or easily a children’s show with no problem.

Constructive Comments: The song is very good. The only thing I could hear was and this is only my personal taste that doesn’t mean it’s right, I would have the vocals sit just a tinge lower in the mix. I think it would make it sound fuller. Great job though. The vocals are really great. The subject matter is really great. Keep up the good work!!!

Positive Comments: I Like the beat and the lyrics and the hook. However, your the quality of the recording is killing the song. This remind me of an aggressive version of watsky. The lyrics are difficult to hear on the recording, but when I listened close I really liked them. The hook is very catchy and got caught in my brain, but needs to be led into better.

Constructive Comments: I like the beat and hook. The song needs to be arranged to where you have more emotion in your voice and it needs to be delivered clearly over a good microphone. I think the song has real market potential because of its deepness and how it connect to many people if you can fix the delivery. I hope to hear this song on the radio soon.

Positive Comments: I think the hook is a little to repetitive. I love the first rap verse and your flow in it. I think the lyrics rhyme well, but could definitely have more substance. Overall I think the track is catchy and that it does have market potential. If you work on the hook some more this song has real potential to make it big.

Constructive Comments: I think the beat is good and your flow is really good. I think the lyrics need more substance and more punch. The hook is good, but its repeated so many times it tends to get annoying and I don’t think it will get stuck in peoples mind’s. Overall this song does have market potential amidst a rap genre that needs help, but this song is not great, just good.

Song: Just As I Am

Reviewer: James Beck

Positive Comments: This is a very solid performance that reflects significant potential. The mix builds elegantly from an opening long enough to get to the floor. The instruments are clear and well-defined combined in a smooth professional production. Clearly you have high standards for your music and a willingness to give me a pleasant listening experience. Best of luck. Hope you can make it happen.

Constructive Comments: You’re up against a raft of competition. My guess is that you’ll need to make your professionalism work for you while you demo your musical talent. That is, I think it’s your talent that’s probably marketable rather than any one particular song. I hope that I said that well enough to be helpful. Anyone who listens will know immediately that you’re pros.
