Song: Put The Weapons Down
Reviewer: Joy Solomon
Positive Comments: This is a message song which has its place in music, particularly in America where the gun carrying debate is very political. This is a clear and persuasive message which of course I endorse. The singer argues that anger is the reason to carry weapons, I am not sure. I worked 10 years in prison education in the UK and most people got into conflict over money linked to drug dealing. The song is a valuable contribution to this debate I am glad it exists.
Constructive Comments: There is a lot of repetition in the song which some listeners might find is overkill. The singer puts his heart and soul into the song and the topic is very serious. Therefore the audience might not find the song entertaining as such. It does stand up as a well produced radio ready song. I hope that the message has some effect!
