Positive Comments: I like the haunting beginning and carries on mysteriously.tension rises nicely and the trombone player nearly passes out holding a long note. Nice beginning and introduction. Like the “whistle while You Workt” theme thrown in there. Nice choice of instruments and a great rise in volume.several theme candidates introduced. Nice retarding ending. The mixing of instruments keeps the suspence going.
Constructive Comments: While many musical themes appear, it is as if just setting the stage for something that is going to appear. Perhaps in the next movement the main story gets revealed and all of the previous music is leading to an explanation f4om its mysterious beginning. It could go anywhere….. would like to hear more of it with more dominant theme carried on. Just pick out one and go with it? Would like to hear this carried on a bit more. You’ve got a winner going on awaiting. Great start and interesting orchestration.
