Positive Comments: Soulmates, apart for so long and longing for each other…you can easily tell from the beautifully crafted melody, slowly loping along in minor keys. As the story unfolds, you’re wondering if they will keep their promises and find each other again. The vocals have that storytelling style of Kenny Rogers, the soft ensemble in the background compliments nicely without overtaking the song. Oh, do the soulmates find each other again? Listen to it and find out!
Constructive Comments: I sometimes think of something to experiment with. Sometimes they work, sometimes not…but how would the song feel if the last stanza drifted into a major key to give a feeling of resolve? I have no idea if that would work out nicely or if that would destroy the overall feel because it’s “their song.” But I will conclude with your terrific ability to carefully craft a melody that is actually a melody you can sing to, and to match the words with the right feel.
