Song: Let Me Hold You
Reviewer: John Walradt
Positive Comments: The lovely melancholy and memorable melody immediately hooks you in and sets the mood for the lyrical story of surrender and of being comforted. Vocals are emotional and airy and compliments the song, which is orchestrated gently with piano and violin. What really gets the song across is the melody. The songwriter has a great gift of crafting unique catchy tunes with just the right emotion. The lyrics easily fit into the feeling of the tune and tells the story beautifully.
Constructive Comments: I just have two suggestions to play with just to see if they might be a nice enhancement: Bring down the violin about -3 and bring in a soft orchestral ensemble after about 1:23, start lightly with single notes and build it up with harmony after 2:05. End the ensemble at 2:45 and go back to the piano and violin. At the very end with “Good night,” let the voice fade out as if trailing off to sleep.
