Song: Believe Your Lies (Sun Voyage / Austin Tyl3R 2013)
Reviewer: CW Mullins
Positive Comments: Strong hard rock track. Vocal arrangement is interesting, not just the lead wailing away mixed up front all the way through. Good pipes on singer too. Strong solo too, not just showing off but introducing some new twists on the musical material. Solid, solid hard rock song with a couple progressive elements.
Constructive Comments: Nothing specific to pick on, just a feeling that there’s nothing really original or unexpected here for a hard rock song – thudding bass line, screaming lead guitar, kind of pompous lyric (“a thousand suns can’t show me” or something like that). Lot of talent on display in this recording, I’d just say that to stand out from the crowd, there needs to be a couple unexpected touches.
