Positive Comments: As a big They Might Be Giants fan, that was the first impression I got. TMBG-esque. An original mind with an original approach, maybe “niche” but an interesting niche. The song’s harmonies are certainly more interesting than a lot of stuff I have heard so far from “pop” groups. Good thing the song doesn’t go on too long, something TMBG know as well!
Constructive Comments: Yeah although I am a big TMBG fan, this wouldn’t be one of my faves if it was actually their song. It’s too frantic, and I can’t really get a grasp on what the point of the lyric is (just slagging off on an ex?). I wouldn’t say the performance is to blame, I’d just say the whole conception is one not designed for wide appeal.
