Positive Comments: Singing put me straight in mind of Smokey Robinson and he wasn’t too bad was he. Nice strings and chord changes. The vocalist and styling is the hook for this.
Constructive Comments: I’m sorry but I think the lyrics are just a little weak. To really hook me I want something a bit more there – Tears of a Clown! There’s a lyric. I’m not sure the melody brings out the best in your singing either, some parts are lovely, some a bit weak. Weaker vocally and lyrically for me when you repeat “beating heart” itself and other parts much better when you sing verses and changes and the emotion comes out. I think the piano is a bit repetitive also, maybe sit it back in the mix and bring the strings and tuba/sax? forward in those parts.
