Positive Comments: The melody is nice. I can’t really think of who this might sound like. It really sounds like it’s own thing.
Constructive Comments: I think the song could definitely benefit from a much tighter performance, maybe play to a click track if you didn’t. the bass guitar sounds out of tune a bit and possibly like your hitting a few wrong notes, I can’t tell which exactly, but it doesn’t sound slightly off. Those are two areas that are quite an easy fix though. Another benefit would be to to pan more the strings/organ instrument are panned well but the vocals, bass and acoustic guitar are all panned up the center and it’s causing those three elements to mask each other a bit and make things sound a bit in your face and lacking clarity. If you would like to keep them all panned up the center I would definitely make good use of EQ. Roll off the low end in the acoustic and vocals a bit, roll off some of the high end in the bass, notch out specific frequencies on each of those three parts to give them each their own frequency space and breathing room, maybe cut a bit around the 200hz to 350hz range to clear up some mud and rumble and add a subtle reverb to the vocal as well, even just a slight room verb to create a bit of space in the vocal would be very helpful. With t he bass, maybe cut a bit in the 400hz range. The guitar just find that boxy sound and cut that frequency out to clean it up a bit. Also, if you want dot doubletrack the acoustic performance you could pan each performance anywhere from 30 to 50 R and L and that would help bring in some clarity in th e mix as well.
