Positive Comments: This instrumentation for this particular production is quite nice. The groove is rather compelling for a lyrical hook “If I Had My Own Way”. I like the philosophical lyrical content. It is almost prayer-like. The use of the clean electric guitar and the counterpoint synthesizers is effective and not distracting.

Constructive Comments: The only constructive comments I can provide relate to the end of the piece, and some of the synth patch tones selected. The upper register “Had My Way” seems a bit out-of-character as it appears rather abruptly. This is my personal taste showing and is not meant as a negative. The use of the synthesizer counter-point tones are a bit dated. I said above that the synth tones are not distracting. They aren’t. However, I would have used a more “real sounding” synth patch, i.e., a piano or Hammond organ tone. The lead vocal reminds me of Bruce Springsteen. Again, that’s not a negative. All-in-all, a great work.
