Song: Champagne & Absinthe
Reviewer: Jeff Maguire
Positive Comments: Moody late night depression has a voice, certainly the mood is suitable for many commercial applications. Sort of like a late night rant in the Cafe Edith Piaf.
Constructive Comments: The mood is very specific and well established so that alone makes it work, the vocal has a few pitch issues, not awful, but to my ear obvious. In this kind of music that is not a deal breaker as it is in a sense about imperfection in life, you could possibly even exaggerate this vocally ala Marianne Faithful or Tom Waits, and I would not call this jazz, certainly not classic jazz, more like alternative rock, it’s almost cabaret music.
