Positive Comments: Honest to goodness Hard Rock! This is tight tight tight and intense with great playing and arrangement. The part where the riffing goes in slow triplets while the snare does a roll at 1:30 is just awesome (1) to think of doing it all and (2) to pull it off perfectly. And then that break at 1:49 is like something Zappa and the Mothers would have done. This is outstanding work with a huge amount of arrangement originality and musicianship. It’s not the kinda thing I’d listen to these days but I really enjoyed this!!
Constructive Comments: The drums are super tight and aggressive but the sound is not there. It sounds like a live recorded track? If you get get more presence and tone from the snare and some air in the overheads it would add a lot. The playing is outstanding though. Kinda the same w vocals –good job but the engineering isn’t there. The drop out break at 2mins is too empty as is –needs something melodically on top–but it’s really arty.
