Positive Comments: I come from the Simon Crowell school of review. Knowing that, I really don’t like reviewing the music of others. I think I’m too harsh. I like the opening guitar arpeggio. It has an ear arresting quality. After that I’m into the threes. I could have gone to 2 on a couple.
Constructive Comments: The desire is there, for sure. I think it’s rewrite time. You can do much better. Lyric writing is often work. Once in a while you’ll get lucky but more often than not… you won’t. A dance song with a strong beat doesn’t need words that tell a story as does a country song. This song is not intended for the dance floor crowd. The lyric needs to link line by line. Listen to successful country songs closely. Especially the love ballads. Songwriting is a skill. Unless your extremely gifted, which most of us are not, study and analysis is mandatory. Good luck. I wish you the best.
