Positive Comments: Good musical ideas. Nice female vocal in the background, nice effect. Very warm feel to the song happy, festive and welcoming. Very nice use of synthesizers. Seriously cool vibe captured from the very beginning which is NOT always easy to do. Good parts by the ‘music’. I like how the arrangement allowed for a lot of instrumental space… the strings around 1:30 were especially nice.

Constructive Comments: Drums are buried…. Art, haven’t I told you? In my opinion you need to start your mix with the drums… get them hot in the mix and sounding good and balanced. That is your foundation. When I listen to your music I feel like the vocals are your foundation. Now that’s not bad but the instruments suffer. Mute all instruments…. Get the drums happening, then add the bass and balance it with the kick or overall drums. Continue unmuting instruments until they are all in sounding balanced and sweet. Then bring in your vocals. My main thing with your songs is the out of balance mix. The guitar is mixed low too, and I feel the eq could be warmer… on a sound like this guitar try (and I emphasis try) some extreme eq boost 2 to 5 dbs around 200hz – 315hz and cut a little around 2.5k (guitar is actually not bad dude). The guitar won’t sound so piercing and thin. I was tapping my foot then at 1:40 you added about 1.3 count extra in that pause, I had to reset my tapping foot (no-no unless you’re going rubato or free). Then at 2:46 there is a pop on the right is (listen very carefully and when you hear little things like that can you do a crossfade?? Assuming you are doing computer based recordings…
