I like how the tale, told so many times in many songs, is told in a different way, a different angle. It really has a meditative, lonely, detached and forlorn feel a floating feel of wondering if this is unreal or just a dream, yet it looks you in the face. Instrumentally stark, soft, minimal&#8230;it captures the feeling perfectly. It reminds me of &#8220;This Mortal Coil,&#8221; an album of somber songs from the 80s. This song would fit well on any pop album for adult contemporary. Very nice job!<\/p>\n<p><b>Constructive Comments: <\/b>A couple of personal ideas perhaps to experiment with if you&#8217;d like: how would it be if the story were told from the first person? Could that make it more personal and give it more punch? How about a short change of melody after 2:29 for variation, a break, for interest? You know your music better than anyone else, and you&#8217;re rightfully the final decision maker.
