Dooly

Positive Comments: The saxophone/trumpet is my favorite aspect of this piece. It’s got an extremely catchy vibe! The loop-based composition (as in arranging your custom work as loops) is done well. There’s a clear use of layering up to that initial brass lead and is quite fun. I could see that being the bass of a hook, such as in Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, or, Thrift Shop by Macklemore. Both highly successful, and because of a quality lick like this thrown in )

Constructive Comments: For a song nearly six minutes long, I feel there is at most 2mins of content here. Maybe it’s an extended remix, but, even so, the track just isn’t suited for this in my opinion. The intro is just way too long, you need to grab people in the first few seconds, not an entire two mins in like me, with the sax. The core synths are all so close to one another. Almost as if you used the same patch on different lanes? It’s extremely muddy and sounds like it’s from the early 2000s, since it powers the mix, and there are no vocals, it just isn’t an endearing sound in 2020. This is Broadjam, not Soundcloud. I feel if five stars are for somebody just as talented as Bruno and Macklemore, this track is stuck in a clear hobbyist level, but certainly isn’t bad. The rating is relative to the best in the industry, considering what site this is. I encourage you to keep making music! This is my opinion, I only ask you to take the feedback in rather than giving a 1-star rating.
