I could have heard this on the radio in 1982, with a slight psychedelic edge. Nice harmonies and a very clean recording overall. Vocal has almost a Gregg Allman vibe at times without the gravel. A solid listen for sure.

Constructive Comments: 2 things – there’s virtually no “hook” that I can discern, which is OK if you’re not trying for radio play. The other bigger issue is you should reverse the saxaphone and vocal volume levels. The lyrics are back in the mix and you can’t understand them at times, even on studio headphones (which is how I listen), and the sax is a little hot in comparison with the bass in particular. I’d move the vocals probably 3db hotter if you ever do a remix.

Broadjam Artist: Simpson-Mancine ProductionsSong: Song of the PeopleReviewer: Bob BirthiselPositive Comments: Interesting retro-sound.
