Jeff Roberts<\/a><\/p>\nPositive Comments: <\/b>Excellent work –it’s all there, and this is a compelling tune. There’s an urgent throbbing pulse throughout, strong lyrics and a killer refrain\/hook, with tight & tasty work on every instrument and vocals. You may be too young to hear it but I hear echoes of CSNY’s Ohio here, which is cool. The intro is a masterful piece of work–it totally sets a mood, and the choice of bass & drums to open first totally works. Ballsy soloing after verse 1 is great, and I love the atmospheric guitar parts in verse 2. Very strong vocalist.<\/p>\n
Constructive Comments: <\/b>I think the bass is too high in the mix. I’d be tempted to make the bass a bit grittier with a tad of distortion and would want to experiment with legato 8ths instead of staccato (but might stay with staccato). The main thing here is getting the vocals to sit on top more and sound better.
