When the oohs come in and you move to the step higher chord it gives a moody cool Prog feel much like Porcupine Tree. There’s a subtle drop out \/ hold part in the verses that’s very artful. This is dark & moody, and it reminds me of The Amazing, Explosions in the Sky, Porcupine Tree and maybe Incubus. Tremendous potential in this tune–I really enjoyed hearing it!<\/p>\n
Constructive Comments: <\/b>There’s a bit too much busy cymbal work at the end of the verse I think. Also the overactive snare fills don’t fit the tune. The vocals need to come up more and dominate the mix. There are pitch issues on the answering “ooo ooo” vocal parts. At 3:45 you’re going into a new section with the 16th high hats, which is very cool but it’s way too late in the tune to introduce new parts unless you’re going for a 30 minute post rock extravaganza. There is a very good tune here that’s got a number of flaws in the current version, IMO of course.
