Song begins with vamp that lasts to about 3:15 into the piece. melody is kept back in the mix, towards the end of the piece a surprise of the hook which I wanted to hear earlier, tasty melody.<\/p>\n<p><b>Constructive Comments: <\/b>The vamp lasts way too long.  The melody is what the listener is hungry for.  When the melody is brought out, it is so far behind the rhythm, difficult to get a sense of where it is going. I would recommend a different sounding instrument rather than keyboard, heavy left hand.  I also want to hear the melody explore the progression which has some very fine substitutions and takes the song where jazz needs to go. The hook took too long to come out.  I suggest listening to how Bob James\/Dave Grusin write their melodies and use of other instruments to accentuate the piece.
