Love the guitar tone and parts. Great rhythm guitar and solo. Very good key arrangement and the horn parts are excellent. This is like Ben Folds meets Steely Dan with a little bit of Beach Music thrown in. This is really catchy and shows a really solid songwriting, arranging and performing talent at work. Nice job!!

Constructive Comments: There are some pitch issues in the vocal. If you avoid multiple syllables all on the same note with a long held final note, eg “so you can tellll why we did it againnnn” it would make it easier to hit the note dead on and then get off it before your voice falters. And aside from pitch I think the use of more staccato phrasing would just be stronger anyway. Adding in some backing harmonies on key phrases, eg “so we can tell” would make this so much stronger. I think if you switch the bass to driving all four a bit ahead of the beat it would add tremendous energy instead of the current behind the beat 1 & 3, which follows more than drives.

Broadjam Artist: John Masarone
Song: Try It Again

Reviewer: Jeff Roberts

Positive Comments: Nice shuffle groove and really good instrumentation.
