I especially love the double stop bends, sort of imitating a slide. Solid, clean flatpicked moving lines in the lead acoustic! Obviously really great right hand technique. Easy to listen to, would work well as a background to a nature film, or weather report, or driving scene in a film or tv show. Just a very nice tune overall.<\/p>\n
Constructive Comments: <\/b>Constructively I don’t have a whole lot. The major things I heard have to do with the mix, and the arrangement. First off, it’s obvious this piece is meant to focus on the guitars, and thats great. But the drums are pretty buried in the overall mix, and as such the piece loses a little bit of drive. Again, GREAT guitar playing. But I felt like the 3 guitar tracks battled each other a bit, especially early on. There was a whole lot of arpeggiating and plat picking, but not enough simple, straight rhythm. You weren’t sure exactly what to focus on as a lead instrument. It felt a little like you just went for it out of the gate, and put all your best lines in this song…but I’ll give you the same advice I got from Vince Gill. You don’t have to play every lick you know in this song. Pick and choose where you want to show off, and let your melody shine. You have a good melodic structure to this piece, but i think it got a little overshadowed by your desire to show off your obviously developed chops.
